You are precious
Glad you're here!
Maybe someone has given you a "You are precious" card or you have found it somewhere and are now looking to see what is behind it.
Maybe someone sent you the link or you landed on this page “by chance”. In any case - we're glad you're here.
No, we're not trying to sell you anything.
We just want to let you know how valuable, how precious you are.
Has anyone ever told you: "You are precious to me"?
Well, in the times we live in, it's usually not who you ARE that counts, but what you do, what you can achieve. In other words, your value is defined by what you do.
That’s a pity, because in reality YOU AS A PERSON are very valuable. Without having lifted a single finger. Simply because you were born, because you are here, because you breathe, because you live - you are precious.
Well, whether you believe it or not, that's the way it is.
Imagine the following:
You have a very precious ring made of real gold set with diamonds. Now you would like to know how much this ring is worth. You wouldn't go to the petrol station to have the ring valued. Nor would you go to the bakery around the corner to find out the value of the ring. Why not? Because a baker or gas station attendant probably doesn't specialize in jewelry and wouldn't be able to give you a satisfactory answer.
So where would you go? To a place that knows about rings: a jewelry dealer or goldsmith. They will be able to tell you the value of your ring.
But if you want to know how valuable YOU are, who do you go to? Who do you ask? What value do you have as a person? What is the value of your life?
Let’s say you would like to buy a car. There’s one that you like which costs you about 2.000 EUR but then there’s one that costs 50.000 EUR. Which one is more valuable? Well, of course the one that costs 50.000 EUR. Why? Because you had to pay a much higher price for it.
So how do you recognize the value of something? By the price you pay for it. That's logical, you say.
Yes, it is logical. And it's the same with you! Your value can be defined by the price that was paid for you.
Now you're asking yourself: A price paid? For me? What do you mean?
Well, someone paid a price for you. It was so high that only one person could pay it.
God says about you: "You are precious". He says, "You are so precious that I wanted you so badly. You are so precious and valuable that I spared no expense or effort to get you back. I couldn't buy you with money, because even the highest sum wouldn't even come close to your value. I had to pay the highest price for you. To get you, I had to pay with the blood of my only son. He had to die so that you could live. I gave my son for you. He came into this world and died IN YOUR PLACE and rose again so that you could spend eternity with me in heaven. You are so precious in my eyes that I did not spare my Son FOR YOU. I don't want you to suffer. I don't want you to be sick. I don't want you to be sad. I don't want you to be afraid. I want you to know how much I love you, how precious you are to me. The life of my perfect son was the only rightful means of payment for YOU - BECAUSE YOU ARE PRECIOUS.
Wow, what a God. What a love.
Yes, He did that to ransom you from death. You can say YES to this loving God today, here and now.
Maybe you say: But I don't feel precious.
Then imagine the following: You have a 50 EUR bill. You give this bill to a person. This person crumples up the bill, steps on it, spits on it, talks badly about it and then kicks it out of the window. If you now go and pick up the bill, unfold it again - what value does this bill have? Can you buy another pair of shoes with this bill? The answer is "Yes". Although the bill has been "badly treated" (by people), it has lost none of its value. You can use it to pay just as you did before.
No matter what people have said about you, no matter who has made unprofessional judgments about you, no matter who has tried to push you into a corner with words and deeds. No matter how the baker around the corner or the petrol station owner sees you. No matter which person has rejected and abandoned you or thrown you away - the truth is: you are and remain precious. Your value in the eyes of God has not and will never change.
If you want to know what value you have, you have to go to the one who created you. And that is God himself. You are his masterpiece, the crown of his creation. You are made in the image of God, you are called to have a relationship with your Creator. God himself has cleared the way for you: his Son Jesus Christ lived the perfect life that you and I can never live. He came especially for you because He knew that you would never be able to stand perfect before God on your own.
"All are sinners and have nothing to show that could please God. But what no one can earn, God in his goodness gives: he accepts us because Christ has redeemed us." (The Bible)
Your sin separates you from God. He knew that he had to die in your place so that you could live.
He says to you today: All you have to do to overcome this chasm between us is to accept my gift of Jesus Christ. Simply believe that I love you. Simply believe that I have sent my Son for you. Believe that he has become your righteousness. Believe that he died and rose again. Believe that I have done all this for YOU.
God says to you today: Just believe and confess it with your mouth, and you will be saved and spend eternity with me.
If you believe that, just say it out loud:
"Dear God, I have read that you love me and that I am precious to you. I thank you for that. I need your gift to me: your son Jesus Christ. Jesus, please come into my life, forgive me of all my sin, heal my heart and soul and body. Restore me completely. Be my Savior and my Lord. Amen."
Wonderful. If you believe this with all your heart, then you have now become a child of God.
We say to you: Welcome to the family of God! How wonderful it is that you are part of it. You will recognize more and more how God sees you and who He is. He has a tremendous plan for your life. You are not an accident. There is a purpose to your life. No one is like you and no one can do what you can do.
Important!
1) Start talking to God. Imagine that He is your best friend. He hears everything you say and knows everything about you. Tell him what you need, ask him to help you. Ask him to help you get to know him better.
2) Get a Bible. The Bible is the Word of God. You get to know him through his word. You learn what he thinks about you and how he sees you. You understand why you are here on earth when you read his word. The Bible. Start in the New Testament. This is the testament in which Jesus was born, died and rose again. The new covenant with mankind. I suggest, start with the book of John.
3) Look for a Christian church, i.e. people who also believe in God. If you don't know of a church, please get in touch with us. We will help you in your search.
If you have prayed the prayer, we would like to hear from you.
You can also contact us with any other concerns, questions or worries under the "Contact" heading. Because now you’re just getting started.
We are here for you.
